Art Deco Post War 1949 Telechron Model 8H59 Tube AM Clock Radio First Clock Radio! DESCRIPTION: This was the first integrated clock radio design by any manufacturer. Before this, alarm clocks did not have radio. Telechron invented this concept of an alarm clock that turned the radio on. It was such a good idea, that it basically is still in use today as a design concept. General Electric liked the idea so much they bought the Telechron company. Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Telechron in 1949 time frame in excellent+ working condition. Late 40s design in brown molded Bakelite painted ivory. Original factory color. No repaints no touch-ups no over spray. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with external antenna attachment wire which is included and already attached. This was before the time of internal wire loop or ferrite rod antenna. Cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, splits, or missing plastic. No cracks on top. Couple pai
