2014 Richard Partridge Chardonnay, Napa Valley
WINEMAKING NOTES: We produced just about 200 cases of our Richard Partridge Chardonnay this year. As usual, we did not put our Chardonnay through malolactic fermentation in order to preserve the bright citrus characteristics typical of Chardonnay grapes from the cooler Carneros Appelation. This wine completed its aging process in 100% French oak (1/3 new oak) for 7 months. TASTING NOTES: Citrus, pear, and plantain aromas. Hints of toasted oak and vanilla bean. In the mouth, apricot and peach flavors integrate with tangerine type citrus. This wine is complex and rich, with a vibrant acidity and a long, silky finish. PAIR WITH: Lobster, shrimp, chicken, turkey, and pork. Goes well with basil, cream, and garlic sauces. Avoid tuna, red meat, and acidic sauces that can take away from this wine's crisp acidity.
