
Decaf Nicaragua Elixir
Tasting Notes: Pomegranate - Cherry - Pineapple - Toffee Light - Medium Roast Decaf Nicaragua Elixir is a highly anticipated release from Swiss Water Decaf. This coffee comes from growers who belong to Nicaragua’s Gold Mountain Coffee, a social enterprise representing 70 producers. The group provide its members with scientifically oriented resources, facilities, and quality guidance. The end goal is for producers to sell higher quality coffee and earn a living wage. This highly traceable Elixir lot uses coffee grown primarily by Maximino Palacios and Marlene Hernandez, and a handful of other growers. The cherry was then processed by Finca Idealista with a combination of carbonic maceration and natural process. Natural processed beans are rinsed and placed out on drying beds with the entire cherry intact. In carbonic maceration, cherries are sealed in a tank before having carbon dioxide pumped in.
