The fantastic woodblock print “A Cup” is by Mitsuru Hiraki (b. 1958). This beautiful piece exudes a gentle atmosphere that evokes the feeling of spring. The contrast between what appear to be delicate petals and the vibrant colors of the cup is truly striking. Mitsuru Hiraki was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1958. He received his Master of Fine Arts from Tama Art University in 1983 and has received several awards since then. He has held exhibitions in Japan and internationally.
