Purpleheart Tapered Tournament Bo Staff 72"x 1"

  This listing is for a Purpleheart Wooden Bo Staff. This is an upgrade from common rattan staffs. The Bo Staff is a traditional Okinawan wooden training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts. These particular staffs are 72 inches in length. These staffs has a center diameter of 1" tapering at the ends to about 3/4 of an inch. Tapering greatly increases rotational speed while still maintaining the staff's core integrity.  The materials consist of purpleheart wood which is one of the most beautiful exotic woods. Its hardness is comparable to hickory and has a beautiful natural dark purple color. These staffs may or may not be laminated depending on wood quality and availability. The wood used for these staffs is medium to lighter grade purpleheart, making these staffs perfect for tournament use where speed and flash is desired, or for spinning applications.
