Domaine Antoine Reniaume Mercurey Rouge

The young Antoine Reniaume might be fairly new on the scene in Burgundy, but his wines do not "behave" that way. He makes a range of whites and reds from his 9 hectares of holdings in the Cote Chalonnaise, and his Mercurey Rouge is one of the top Red Burgundy values we stock. Coming from a tiny, 0.72 hectare plot of 60 year-old Pinot Noir, this sees 14 months of aging in French oak (neutral). The finished wine is silky, deeply flavored, and quite complex. Notes of warm dark and red fruits, exotic spices, forest floor, and silky tannins are all exhibited in this wonderful Red Burg.
