Domaine des Chasseignes began four generations ago with a family farm that also raisedlivestock and grew grains. Today, the great granddaughter of founder Alphonse, AuroreDezat, is the talented vigneronne at the helm. Her husband, David Girard, joined her in 2016 and with him brought a wealth of experience in organic and biodynamic farming. In addition to beautiful Sancerre Rouge and Blanc, the couple make mineral-drenched single-vineyard wines, including one of the most famous lieux-dits in Sancerre, “Les Chasseignes.” Each single vineyard is treated to an elevage appropriate to its personality, through careful and intentional vinification practices. Their Les Chasseignes comes from a single plot of 45+ year-old vines at the top of this esteemed site.
