Domaine Sebastien Magnien Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes De Beaune Blanc
The young and talented Sebastien Magnien is highly spoken of by Burgundy connoisseurs, as his wines represent some of the finest values coming out of the Cote de Beaune. He's the 4th generation of his family to make wines for his family's estate, and he trained well for the job. After gaining experience at Domaine Rossignol in Gevrey and Olivier Leflaive in Puligny, Sebastien headed to California where he worked at Hartford Court. Today, he calls Meursault home, and he tends to all of the duties of the family winery. Magnien's entry-level white is anything but entry-level. Almost Meursault-like with its nutty and savory nose, this opens up into a joyous glass of wine with air and temperature. The nose bursts with notes of fresh hazelnut, pear, white flowers, and honey, and the palate is equally enjoyable. Elegant and fresh yet ample and complex, this is a ton of White Burgundy for the $$.
