Star Russian composer (1840-1893) of the late romantic period, today one of the most popular composers in the classical music world. Gorgeous cabinet-style photograph of the composer signed and inscribed by him, dated in 1887; an original cabinet by the Russian photographer Konstantin Aleksandrov, Saint Petersburg. Size is 4.3 x 6.7 inches, crease over the top, minor damage on verso with some ink writing with music by another hand, in overall very good condition. One of the best we have seen!
