This is a 2013 harvest raw compressed Pu'er tea brick from the famous Iceland village in China. Bing Dao, translated as Iceland, is a village located halfway up Bangma Snow Mountain, with an altitude of 3,200 meters. The Pu'er tea from Bing Dao village is known for its superb quality, with a thicker mouthfeel and smooth, slightly sweet taste. This tea cake measures approximately 4" across and weighs 100 grams. While ripe Pu’er tea has higher levels of caffeine (similar to black tea), aged raw Pu’er has very low levels of caffeine and higher levels of GABA, an important amino acid for relaxation and mental health. Thus, aged raw Pu’er will afford a much more relaxing and grounding drinking experience than ripe Pu’er.
