SURI / WOODEN PESTLES

Made of sustainably harvested Japanese pepper trees called Sansho, these wooden surikogi pestles are used as a pair with mortars. Sansho tree is a hard, naturally antibacterial, and highly wear-resistant wood, making it great for crushing and grinding foods like sesame, nuts, and spices. The groove on the barks allow for a comfortable and firm grip. Handmade by Japanese craftsman, each piece is unique.
