Pachypodium lamerei reach up to 15 feet tall in their natural habitat. Grown in pots, they are much smaller. They are native to Southern Madagascar. P. lamerei is a succulent related to Plumerias. They are fast growers and can reach a height of 4 feet in just a few years. It can be grown indoors in a very sunny window. Pachypodiums are easy to grow and great for beginners! The flowers are white with a yellow center. Pachypodium belong to the Apocynaceae family. Pachypodium lamerei typically flower in late Spring to early Summer. They are hardy to zones 9-11. They need full sunlight to light shade exposure, and warm temperatures. During winter Pachypodium need very little water, and may lose their leaves. Use a well draining potting mix consisting of organic and inorganic substrate for best results. All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested. Do not consume. Seed germination rates are high, but they do germinate sporadically. They can take anywhere from 7 days to 6 months to germinate
