Ziziphus mauritiana, commonly called the Indian jujube, Chinese date, Chinese apple, or dunks, is a tropical-subtropical small tree in the buckthorn family of Rhamnaceae. Ziziphus mauritiana is often confused with its close relative, the Chinese jujube (z. jujuba). Z. mauritiana are thorny evergreen trees with elegant drooping branches reaching heights of up to 45 feet tall.
