 Here is a very special silver pendant that's made from an early Navajo squash blossom. The blossom originally made its way to Turquoise & Tufa from a fine, early hand-wrought silver squash blossom necklace that was in pieces. For decades, the Native art dealer Martha Struever kept some beautiful blossoms and beads sitting in a drawer because there weren't enough pieces to re-string an entire necklace. Marti always intended to do something with the the squash blossoms because they were so pretty. Therefore, with Marti Struever in mind, a few of her historic blossoms have been re-imagined into new pieces of jewelry that still maintain the soulful integrity of the original piece. There have been a few pairs of earrings and a few pendants. With this sweet pendant, the original blossom is completely untouched except to hang it from a leather strap.
