BERU and BREMI ignition coils are direct OEM replacements for the 2017-Present 3.0T Audi S5 engine.  Ignition coils turn a car battery's low voltage into high voltage required by the spark plugs to create a spark in the combustion chamber. Ignition coils are crucial for engine timing and performance. We recommend replacing ignition coils and spark plugs at the same time, or every 40,000 miles. Symptoms of ignition coils going bad are similar to spark plugs going bad: rough idle, engine misfires, poor engine performance, and slow starts.
