When I go out into the desert to photograph wild horses I like to get to my location just before sunrise. On this particular day in Tonto National Forest the sun was just beginning to come up behind a mountain range called the Four Peaks. I don’t know if I have ever seen a sky so dramatic as this one, I just had to try and photograph it even though the mountain range itself was going to be severely underexposed. I wanted that sky!! To my surprise I was able to create this photo painting doing justice to the sky I saw as well as giving the outline of the mountain range. Just goes to show you never know what beauty might arise from a precarious situation. Just give it a try!
