Oxbow Bend is an aptly named bend in the Snake River that is a popular photo spot in Grand Teton National Park. Due to it’s shape and position, the Oxbow Bend creates frequent opportunities to capture the Teton Range reflected in the calm waters of the Snake River. On this particular day I was up at 4am in order to take the hour long drive and arrive at Oxbow just before sunrise. It was a very cool morning with a lot of moisture in the air accounting for the beautiful layering of clouds and fog in the distance. Along with the golden hue of the rising sun reflecting off the snow on the mountain and the muted colors of the early dawn the scene had a eerie and almost mystical feel to it. A feeling I often get when being out in nature. Cheers, Skeet
