Total costs and amount of meat you take home vary depending on the size of your cow and your processing choices. The average size of a 1/4 beef is approximately 150 - 200 lbs. of hanging weight, which typically yields ~80 - 120 lbs. of steaks, ground beef, ribs, roasts, stew meat, soup bones, liver, and other cuts. Our price is $4.50/lb. of hanging weight. You also pay the locker separately for processing costs. While totals vary, we estimate that average total costs for a 1/4 grass fed beef (including processing) will be approximately $900 - $1,200. More about our beef: We use regenerative farming practices and rotationally graze our cattle on diverse pastures and cover crops on our farm. We do not feed them grain; we do not use synthetic chemicals or fertilizers on our pastures or hay field
