A colorful, hand-painted Japanese Imari bowl with alternating panels of cherry tree trunks and blossoms.The molded porcelain dish has a scalloped rim and has been hand painted in gilt and colorful enamels. The well has been painted in underglaze cobalt with cherry blossoms and foliage. There is cobalt scrolling on the outside body with little birds perched on this scrolling. The foot is raised and glazed. The base has a round of unglazed porcelain with a glazed center and a maker’s mark in the center. MEASUREMENTS5 7/8” diameter x 1 ¾” tall. Weighs 8.9 oz (250 g)CONDITIONThere are no breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs. There is wear to the gilding on the cobalt ring in the well. A bright colorful, intricate bowl to add richness and age to your home.
