We stayed next door in France, watching it below, watching its super yachts and traffic jams. Monte Carlo, a campaign in luxury, the place spills secrets of a golden time with Grace Kelly and money machines. Here, the wonder of the city has been combined with the 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, famously driven by Dale Earnhardt, sporting a handlebar mustache, mullet, and NASCAR sleeveless. Give me glamour and I’ll give you its jaded counterpart. There’s no limit on how wonderfully something once glamorous can be disseminated, diluted, and distorted. I live for the culmination of the two. Luxury for luxury sake can be boring, lacking a human touch, luxury used for the marketing of a far distant land or object is much more interesting.
