This Bidjar was handwoven during the late 19th century. It features a midnight blue central medallion floating atop an open and undulating red lacquer field. A variation of the herati design can be found in both the medallion and the cornices which are rendered in blues, greens, pinks, and yellow. Upon closer inspection, various abstracted animals can be found in the pattern. The meandering leaf and rosette main border sits on the same dark ground as the central medallion and is framed by two thin minor borders of colorful botehs. The addition of a plain navy perfectly frames this colorful rug. Strong enough to place in an entry yet special enough to hang on the wall. In very good condition with a full pile and light wear and fraying near the ends. The pile is low and dense with a sturdy handle.   Size: 2’4" x 3’6" [71cm x 107cm] Age: Late 19th Century  Type of Rug: Bidjar  Material: Wool  Pile Height: Medium Condition: Very good, some fraying on ends   BK2449   Check out our Bidjar c
