Antique Bidjar Rug - 4’10 x 7’

This Bidjar rug was handwoven during the early 20th century. It features an all-over herati design of on a deep navy ground. Framed by a rich lacquer red main border that showcases beautifully spaced detailed palmettes. Flanked by floral meander minor borders that add some brightness. The lacquer red main border accentuates the red rosettes in the herati field and the lighter blue tones sparkle against the deep navy ground.  In very good condition for its age with some areas of wear near the perimeter. With a low, dense pile and a heavy handle.
