Antique Bidjar Rug - 4'2 x 7'
This Bidjar was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century (1900-1925). It features a canary yellow central medallion on an open and undulating brick field which contains a variety of symbols including pairs of boteh and four stick figures among others. The meandering leaf and rosette main border sits on a charming sky blue ground with gentle abrash that nicely harmonizes with the abrash in the brick field. In good condition. Some traffic wear is consistent with age, scattered repairs (as pictured). Thoroughly cleaned but one small stain (as pictured). Pile is low and dense with a sturdy handle.
