Energy & Electricity Career Cart

Description:   The energy & electricity cart demonstrates the uses of solar panels to generate electricity, as well as measure it using a multimeter. Students will understand how a more concentrated light source will produce more electricity and race each other to see who transfer water the fastest. Project Challenge: Assist NASA in developing a solar powered pumped-storage system for use on Mars Perform experiments and collect data to decide what features are important for system design Key Student Activities: Use a multimeter to measure output of solar panels in various conditions and configurations Operate a solar-powered water pump and record pump time for several distinct configurations Relevant Careers: Electrician, Powerline Technician, Solar Energy
