Contender Bush Bean
First released in 1949, Contender beans have come to be known as the gold standard for early green bean varieties. Bush type plants produce extra early, heavy yields of 5 to 6-inch-long, slightly curved green beans with a fresh, classic green bean flavor. The tender, stringless green beans are excellent for fresh eating and sauteing and are a workhorse for canning. Contender bush beans are widely adapted to most gardening climates, excelling in both cool, short season and hot, humid gardens. The healthy, stout plants are resistant to common bean mosaic virus and powdery mildew, making them a great, carefree option for beginning gardeners. All-in-all if you are looking to get tasty, extra early harvests of green beans this season, Contender is the way to go. Matures approximately 55 days after sowing. Each packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.
