Developed by Ferry-Morse Seed Company and released in 1938, Early Prolific Straightneck has been a staple in American gardens for generations. Bush-type plants produce heavy and continuous yields of yellow-skinned squash with tender, finely grained interiors. Best picked when 5 to 6 inches in length while the skins are still thin and tender. We have tried some strains of this variety that fail to impress, but this one is a winner. Early and productive with the most tender, delicious squash. Great for frying, sauteing, roasting, and baking. All-America Selections winner. Harvests begin 40 to 50 days after sowing. Each packet contains a minimum of 25 seeds.
