Eva Purple Ball Tomato

Eva Purple Ball is an heirloom tomato variety originating from the Black Forest region of Germany sometime in the late 1800s.  Durable plants produce heavy yields of perfectly round, blemish-free tomatoes that are marked by a deliciously sweet, rich flavor and a brilliant fuchsia pink coloring throughout.  Uniform in size and coreless, Eva Purple Ball makes an excellent canning tomato, but its flavor is so good, you'll want to try it on sandwiches as well.  Famed tomato collector Dr. Carolyn Male described the flavor as "sweet, luscious and quite juicy," qualities which earned Eva Purple Ball a place in her book, 100 Tomatoes for the American Garden.
