White Sweet Spanish Onion

White Sweet Spanish is an heirloom variety of onion that produces round, white-skinned onions weighing up to one pound each.  An easy-to-grow variety with big potential if you give them some attention, the bulbs can reportedly grow up to 5 inches wide when given ample fertility.  In our hands they average 3 to 4 inches, but that's good enough for us.  We love that this variety is very easy to grow from seed and that they size up quickly once the bulbing stage is triggered, giving us a steady supply of onions throughout the summer, when they're most needed for salads, hot dogs, and burgers.  The onions are also very easy to peel, which is a real bonus when you're in a hurry to get supper on the stove.  Long day.  Stores 2-4 months.  Matures approximately 100 days after transplant.  Each packet contains a minimum of 50 seeds.
