For many years, we have sourced our staple Ethiopian natural from a variety of American importers, but always from the Kayon Mountain farm of Shakiso, Ethiopia. In 2025, when African harvests began to land in ports across the US, we tried dozens of samples of different Ethiopian varieties, processes, and coffees from regions outside of Guji, where the Kayon Mountain Farm is located. While we will always appreciate the excellent work and evident quality in these remarkable coffees coming out of the Guji zone, and from Kayon Mountain specifically, we decided to try and find the very best balance of flavors and affordability so that long-time fans can expect the same level of quality and flavor experience at a price that feels right.
