This is a fantastic example of a tripod vessel from the Greater Chiriqui region of Panama / Costa Rica. It has a large vessel set on top of three conical, hollow tripod legs. Each leg was supposed to have "rattles" inside but they have been damaged. The pot is etched with geometric designs. It is circa 1000-1500 AD. It has staining to the surface and wear consistent with age & use. It is unpainted and unglazed. It measures about 7" tall by 6.5" wide. This is part of a collection that was purchased out of Western Mass by a life long collector. Each piece has been checked for authenticity. It is an amazing collection! Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks for looking!
