Ancient Pre Columbian Chiriqui Tripod Vessel, Rattle Bowl, c.1000-1500AD

This is a fantastic example of a tripod vessel from the Greater Chiriqui region of Panama / Costa Rica. It has a vessel on top of three bulbous tripod legs. Each leg is hollow with "rattles" inside. The olla has flared, flattened handles - one has been repaired. It is circa 1000-1500 AD. It has staining to the surface and wear consistent with age & use. It is unpainted and unglazed.It measures about 3.25" tall by 5.25" wide.This is part of a collection that was purchased out of Western Mass by a life long collector.
