This is a fantastic example of a tripod vessel from the Greater Chiriqui region of Panama / Costa Rica. It has a vessel on top of three small, conical tripod legs. Each leg is hollow with "rattles" inside. Each leg is tapered with a lizard or chameleon figure on it. It is circa 1000-1500 AD. It has staining to the surface and wear consistent with age & use. It is unpainted and unglazed. It measures about 3.5" tall by 4.5" wide. This is part of a collection that was purchased out of Western Mass by a life long collector. Each piece has been checked for authenticity. It is an amazing collection! Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks for looking!
