This is a fantastic example of a tripod vessel from the Greater Chiriqui region of Panama / Costa Rica. It has a bowl vessel set on top of three small hollow tripod legs with a cut out design. The bowl itself has a wide opening. Each leg was supposed to have "rattles" inside but they have been damage and they are missing. It is circa 800-1200 AD. It has staining to the surface and wear consistent with age & use. It is unpainted and unglazed. It measures about 4.25" tall by 4.25" wide. This is part of a collection that was purchased out of Western Mass by a life long collector. Each piece has been checked for authenticity. It is an amazing collection! Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks for looking!
