30 SEEDS. Cucumis sativus. 60 - 70 days. Annual. Heirloom. Zones 4 - 12. A popular and productive variety of 8 - 9" long, smooth, dark green cucumbers that are sweet, juicy, and tender. Great for slicing! Directly sow seeds 1" deep and 3" apart in groups of 4 - 6 in well-drained, moist soil after all danger of frost has passed. Germinates in 7 - 14 days. Keep evenly moist. Space groups at least 18" apart. Thin to 3 or 4 stronger seedlings per group when they are 1 - 2" tall. Mulch well to retain moisture. Keep well-watered at the soil level throughout the growing season, especially during dry spells. Trellis or plant along a fence line for the vines to climb. Harvest in the morning for the best flavor and texture and don't allow fruits to become overripe on the vine. Grows 36 - 48" long.
