Muncher Cucumbers
25 SEEDS. Cucumis sativus. 65 days. Annual. Heirloom. Open-pollinated. Zones 3 - 12. A nearly spineless, burpless, prolific variety that is tender and low acid. Never bitter, crisp, and has thin skin at any stage. Plump green fruits reach 6 - 8" in length on strong, vigorous vines. Great for eating straight from the garden and makes tasty pickles. Definitely a favorite! Directly sow seeds 1" deep and 3" apart in groups of 4 - 6 in well-drained, moist soil after all danger of frost has passed. Germinates in 8 - 10 days. Keep evenly moist. Space groups at least 18" apart. Thin to 3 or 4 stronger seedlings per group when they are 1 - 2" tall. Mulch well to retain moisture. Keep well-watered at the soil level throughout the growing season, especially during dry spells. Trellis or plant along a fence line for the vines to climb. Harvest in the morning for the best flavor and texture. Grows 36 - 48" long.
