Judgement

About 25 years ago I had a neighbor who planted some wildflowers on the side of his house. They were magical and I took many photos of them that summer. For many years after that he planted the seeds again but the wildflowers never returned. I’m not sure he ever got over the frustration of not being able to recreate that spectacular sight. For me, I was just thankful we had that one year with them. What is more beautiful than a field of wildflowers you ask? Nothing would be my reply. I would also add however there is nothing less beautiful than a field of wildflowers. All things arise from the same source so why judge? As the great Taoist master Lao-tzu said, “ When people see some things as beautiful, other things become ugly. When people see some things as good, other things become bad.” So try not to see the world as good or bad, or as beautiful or ugly. See it as it is and rejoice in all that it offers!
