The Long and Winding Road

This is a path near my home that I often walk looking for photo opportunities. The fall colors were particularly striking this year. When I venture out with camera in hand I usually have a goal or certain subject in mind that I'm hoping to see but it doesn’t always turn out the way I expect. More often than not I may be expecting to see eagles but find there are none. However, inevitably right around the next turn in the path I find something totally unexpected and wonderful to photograph. Life is a lot like that path that I walk so often. Thinking I know what to expect around the next turn but often being surprised by seeing something different. The trick is not to be distracted and upset by what you don’t see but to find the beauty and wonder and opportunity in what you do see! So don’t let present circumstances get you down because they aren’t what you want or expected but instead accept what is and find the magic in the moment. It’s there, you just have to look.
