Chess Board of Life Jean

About the art: During the summer, I play pickup volleyball at North Ave Beach in Chicago 5-6 nights a week, where I’ve met many unique humans. I remember one interaction from last summer with this quiet but personable guy - we connected over fashion. At the time his dream was to one day own a jean brand. Fast forward a year and I see him on the sand, so I ran over and shared my life update. The weeks following our reconnection, the two of us kinda friend dated... you know when you hang out with a new person in your life to see if you're compatible as close friends. Anyways he opened up to me - as a teen he had made some missteps that have kinda pushed him off his goals in life but was working to get back on track. He’s a good guy. I’ve since grown pretty fond of him and while I know he still isn't where he wants to be (are any of us tho?), he keeps moving forward. This jean is inspired by him... just like a game of chess, one wrong move might make the game harder but it doesn't have to
