About the art: Religion has ruled our world for the entirety of documented history. Throughout that history, sex, and specifically same-sex relations, has been demonized as deserving of a fate worse than death. This past spring, I saw an image of a painted ceiling in the French palace of Versailles that features angels flying through the clouds. It inspired me to create a piece that depicted naked beings in sexual positions falling from the sky, demonstrating the dichotomy between the beauty of these specimens paired with the fate they endured for their acts of love. This jean is being printed in three iterations: opposite sex, male and male, and female and female imagery.
