How to Read a Store Check

Start with the title on your product page

Open Store Checker, paste one title, and select Check the stores. You receive counts and example listings without an account or email. Request limits apply. When enough listings are returned, See all listings opens a table with filters, sorting, variants, and more rows to load.

Stores, listings, and title words

A store is counted once even if several of its listings match. Listings are counted separately. The search removes common stop words and uses English word matching, including stemming and configured synonyms. It is not an exact phrase or identical-product check.

The two counts show stores with listings matching every searchable title word and stores matching at least the displayed percentage of those words. A title can overlap strongly with a different product. Review the actual listing before treating it as a comparable item.

“At least” means the search reached its listing limit. The reported count is a lower bound within the observed data. A zero result means no matching listing was found in the searched, eligible-store data. It does not prove that you are the only seller or that buyers have no alternatives.

What the saturation band means

Low, Moderate, High, and Saturated describe the number of eligible stores matching every title word. The thresholds were calibrated on a dated sample of listing titles. The band does not measure sales, search demand, ad competition, or the commercial potential of your product. Short and specific titles can produce very different counts.

Use the band to decide which listings deserve inspection. A crowded title can still describe a product that answers a particular buyer’s question.

Reading prices and variants

The low, median, and high prices use available variant prices from a bounded sample of every-word matching listings. The caption gives the number of listings priced. The sample may be smaller than the total count; listings with more priced variants contribute more prices. This is not a category-wide price benchmark or a recommendation for your price.

Prices are displayed in USD under the dataset’s reporting convention. The checker does not verify or convert each store’s currency at request time. Check the original listing’s currency, pack size, variant, availability, and current price before making a comparison.

The title-only input supplies no information about your own variants. A product-link intake can supply variant names; a missing name is not evidence that a product has only one variant. Your own price is not read from the submitted link or screenshot by this workflow.

Observation dates and your own store

The collection date is the newest listing observation in the dataset. Individual listings may have earlier observation dates. A new check reads the available records; it does not rescrape all the stores. Observed prices and stock states may have changed.

Store Checker cannot identify your store from a title, so it includes your store if it appears in the matching data. On the free product workflow, a Shopify product link supplies a store domain. Your store is excluded when that domain resolves to a known store; the result explicitly confirms when exclusion succeeded.

From title overlap to a useful answer

The checker does not measure competitors’ ad bidding or whether they answer a buyer question. It gives you listing evidence to inspect. To explore a content angle, start with a screenshot or Shopify product link in the free How-to-Sell guide preview. The candidate question is a content hypothesis that still needs product-fact review.
