How Pricing Intelligence Works
What Pricing Intelligence Shows
Reach Dog compares a merchant’s product price with comparable products in the broader product corpus. Pricing research can provide competitor product rows, market ranges, price position, and available price history.
Comparable products are organized through Reach Dog’s semantic product structure rather than relying only on broad category labels.
Reading Market Position
A product may appear above, near, or below the observed market context for its comparable neighborhood. That position is evidence, not a verdict.
A higher price may reflect brand, materials, bundle contents, service, or other differences. A lower price may be deliberate or may indicate a margin question. Review the actual comparable listings before deciding what the position means.
Freshness and Price History
Price data reflects the observations available to the product. It should not be treated as a guaranteed real-time quote unless the interface explicitly supplies a current verification time. Price history can show how observed prices have changed since February 2024.
Using the Evidence
Use pricing intelligence to:
- inspect comparable products
- understand the observed market range
- review where a product sits within that context
- identify products that deserve a closer pricing review
- track competitor products or price history where those tools are available
Reach Dog supplies the market evidence and position. The merchant decides whether to hold, raise, lower, bundle, reposition, or make no change.
