Fixing Keyword Cannibalization

What Keyword Cannibalization Means Here

Keyword cannibalization describes a situation in which multiple products in one catalog map strongly to the same search intent or buyer phrase.

Overlap is not automatically a problem. Two products may serve different sizes, materials, price points, or buyer situations while sharing broader language. The purpose of the analysis is to show where the merchant should inspect whether those distinctions are clear.

Reviewing Overlap

For each shared term:

  1. Confirm that every mapped product genuinely serves the need.
  2. Compare the product titles and descriptions.
  3. Identify the property, audience, use, or benefit that distinguishes each product.
  4. Decide whether the pages should remain separate, be differentiated more clearly, or be consolidated.

Review available volume, CPC, competition, and relevance as context. Reach Dog does not imply that overlap automatically raises CPC, divides a fixed ad budget, or prevents one page from ranking.

Options for Merchant Review

These are review options, not guaranteed ranking fixes. The merchant decides based on product truth, site structure, and campaign strategy.
